3. Manageable Recoil: Mild recoil means your follow-up shots are lightning fast and stay right on target.
4. Magazine Commonality: Many PCCs accept the exact same magazines as your EDC pistol (like Glock mags). That means one less thing to worry about in an emergency: your ammo and mags cross over seamlessly.
5. Overpenetration Control: With proper defensive ammunition — like heavy 147-grain Jacketed Hollow Points (JHP) — you get exceptional terminal ballistics while significantly reducing the risk of overpenetration through interior drywall compared to high-velocity rifle rounds.

Why a PCC Also Makes Sense for Car Carry

Everything that makes a PCC strong indoors also makes it a smart option around a vehicle. A compact PCC is easier to maneuver inside a car or truck than a full-length rifle, and with a folding brace setup, it can be stored more discreetly behind a seat or in a center console area depending on your vehicle and local laws.

If you ever have to bail out of the vehicle and fight from in, around, or near the car, a PCC gives you the same stability, controllability, and fast follow-up shot capability that makes it so effective inside the home. You're dealing with tight angles, limited movement, and very little time to react. In that kind of space, compactness matters.

That becomes even more important in a vehicle ambush. Threats may not come from one clean direction. They can appear at the driver side, passenger side, front, or rear almost at once. In a scenario like that, the FRT advantage matters even more. The ability to deliver rapid follow-up shots while staying on target can make all the difference when multiple threats are moving from different angles and you need to respond immediately without losing control of the gun.

For a civilian defender facing multiple threats, this mechanical advantage allows you to deliver rapid, highly controlled strings of accurate shots without losing your sight picture or fighting a sluggish trigger. The Catch: Tuning a Blowback PCC Takes Real Work

If you're thinking about dropping an FRT into your setup, there is a catch you need to know. Most of these trigger systems were originally designed for direct impingement AR platforms. Putting them into a direct blowback 9mm PCC is a different beast entirely.

Blowback guns cycle violently compared to locked-breech rifles. Tuning an FRT to run reliably in a blowback PCC requires careful selection of AR-15 parts, specifically a heavy buffer system, a tuned bolt carrier group (BCG), and proper spring weights.
